Looft® grill accessory products are designed and engineered in Sweden. Looft® believes in making quality products that stand the test of time, as well as avoiding the environmental impact of buying lighter fluid and new grilling tools each season. Looft® began 1997 when theater director Richard Looft got angry. The chicken he barbecued tasted of lighter fluid! Richard started thinking of a better and more environmentally friendly way to light the grill. So he did what any man would do - he poured coal into a toaster, turned the flow around in a vacuum cleaner and blasted the coals with it. He discovered that the coals were ready to use in just a few minutes! That was just the beginning. The first Looftlighter® prototype was made in 2003 and the version we use today arrived in 2006. Looft® has since expended and now offers other grilling tools such as tongs, spatulas and unique chef knifes.
